MEP Frieda Brepoels and EMSP organised an information session in the European Parliament on Wednesday 9 December 2009. At this occasion various experts – MEP Brepoels, Dorothea Pitschnau-Michel, Professor Jan Hillert, Dr. Peter Flachenecker and Christoph Thalheim– informed the audience on the results of the MS-ID Project and highlighted the importance of EMSP’s future European MS Register.

Besides an overview of the findings of the MS Barometer and the implementation of the European Code of Good Practice in MS and its recommendations, a focus was put on the need for a European MS Register, a tool which will be beneficial for scientists and stakeholders involved, because it will provide data allowing to compare and optimize MS treatment and care in the different EU countries.

This session was aimed at MEPs and their assistants, health insurers, representatives of the European Commission, Health Attachés from the Perm Reps in Brussels and any other interested experts.
