Cladribine tablets approved in Russia
Cladribine tablets to treat people with relapsing remitting MS have been approved in Russia today and are expected to be available as early as 2011.

12 July 2010 UK MS Society

This is the first time cladribine has been granted marketing approval in any country. The European Drugs Regulator, European Medicines Agency (EMA), is currently considering the case for making cladribine available in Europe and a decision is expected towards the end of the year.

Announcement follows results of a clinical trial earlier in the year showing that cladribine can reduce the number of relapses experienced in people with relapsing remitting MS.
