The press conference on 10 August was attended by well over 60 people, a surprise for a month when the Institutions are on holiday, but many were not journalists. However, there were enough news agencies – associated press, EU observer, Reuters, some national agencies – to spread the message, plus good representation of the UK press (Times, Independent and Guardian), German press (FAZ and radio).
